Birketts LLP PRIDE LUNCH & LEARN

I was delighted to be invited to speak at Birkett Long on Friday and present on LGBTQIA+ Fertility Journeys and how employees can support as Allies further when on a journey.

We discussed the implications we already face as a marginalized community, the impact of fertility treatment for queer people and the erasure and invalidation of many of our experiences in the workplace, especially Non-Birthing Parents.

We also spoke at length about psychological safety and how crucial it is to feel safe to not only share your parenting journey but even to feel safe enough to be ‘out’ and bring your ‘whole self’ to work- the place we spend most of our adult lives.

Some amazing and thought provoking questions and was amazing to see how people want to educate themselves and compassionately support.

Exciting that there’s further discussion with us around how they ensure queer people are heard and supported.
