NHS England & NHS Improvement-Tribe request for Policy change & further support

So again, on our quest for policy change, I worked my way through the ranks & managed to get myself a meeting over a call with one of the Heads of NHSE/I.

Most of the areas I had mentioned with the GEO were in fact apt for our conversation, & she was the most engaging & kind woman I had spoken with- passionate about her role & the fact that I had brought these point to her attention was important.

I explained that as a part of our community I wanted to stress, we anted to work with them to also support our amazing NHS workers, Midwives, GPs & other staff that look after us, & that we were wholly aware that they haven’t been provided with the education or knowledge required, not through any fault of the NHS, but through the fact our community set-up is drastically changing & has done dramatically over the past 5 years. We aim to work together to ensure that those staff are supported so they feel able to do their jobs well in supporting us & be provided with all the necessary information to do so-it’s all about being open & collaborating together.

Since then I have spoken with multiple people & am due to meet with the NHSE/I to discuss the areas that we brought to their attention, & work towards these changes.

It is great that such a huge system like NHSE/I listens to those in our community & is committed & dedicated to creating change for our families.

Please watch this space, it will be a long journey, but a very exciting one for our LGBT Mummies Tribe!
