World Premiere of ‘Joy’

  What a night!

 Getting to attend the World Premiere of Joy at the BFI last night was immense 

Thank you so much to the lovely team at @apricity_fertility for inviting us @lgbt_mummies with some of the best people from the fertility industry, it was magical!  

 To get to hear from the Director, producer and the stellar cast the reasons behind why they did the film, and how passionate they were about telling the story was so inspiring;

 Getting to hear Bill Nighy state that he wanted to tell the story, to ensure that Jean’s story and role in IVF’s founding was told, so that “women weren’t erased” again and @jginorton saying the impact it had that his friends had IVF babies and saw the impact was emotional- and a stark reminder of what many of us have had to go through to have our babies (although the needles back then were mighty scary and much bigger than what we use today!)

 To know that if it wasn’t for those three Pioneer’s, our own four babies wouldn’t be here- 4 in 12 million+ babies globally that would not otherwise exist if it wasn’t for them. There were a lot of tears & emotions in the theatre, and so proud that @louisejoybrown got to see on the screen her family and life come to life was so heartwarming. 

 The film “Joy” comes out worldwide on @Netflix on the 22nd October- make sure you watch it! It’s gut-wrenching,heart-warming,emotional and funny- and makes us so proud that our babies and that of others in our community and globally, have been able to have the families of our dreams- because three people withstood the hate, the abuse, and the ridicule globally to create IVF for so many.

 Never been prouder to be IVF Mamas than last night!
